YOUR VERY FIRST WITCHY SPELL

We were taught this spell as children, under the noses of parents that may even consider spellwork evil, and so I share this insight with you so that you may start to consider all of the ways in which you practice magic unbeknownst to you.

We gather around in a circle.

We light the special candles on the ceremonial edible altar.

The central figure of the spellwork, closes his or her eyes feeling deeply into the intention, the desire, the wish to be cast into the Ethers.  Those circled around the edible altar sing the chant to raise the energies and feed the central figure, the spellcaster, as they silently cast the spell of their heart's desire.  When the intention is set, the central figure blows out the candles, and the rest of the circle cheers,  "Happy Birthday!"  This is not a joke, my friends. This has all of the elements of casting intentional prayer, otherwise known as Spells.

Where else do you cast thoughts, words or intentions out into the Universe with a strong emotion (good or bad) vibrating in your heart, in your body?  Pay attention this month to how many times you 'cast black magic'.  When you are judgmental to yourself and others, especially with a lot of emotion behind it, you are casting spells for the dark forces.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to my first Moon Magic Newsletter ever!  Thank you for taking this exciting journey with me.  Each month, I will share information about the most notable Astrological events, do's and don'ts around practical Magic, and how to keep your Spells and rituals in the Light, and the energy and specifics of each month's full moon.  

This month's Astrological events:

First of all, we start off the year acknowledging that Venus has been in Retrograde since Dec 19 of last month.  During a Venus Retrograde, you are called to look back into your past around beauty, romance, and self-love.  Venus Retrograde is our opportunity to correct wrongs from the past in these areas, gain closure and clarity, and elevate ourselves in these areas. You probably had an ex pop into your head or actually reach out to you during this time.  Perhaps you are contemplating a makeover, or ways to make your home and yourself more beautiful.  Have fun with this now! When that lover from the past resurfaces explore the past, what didn't work, and how can you mold yourself to do better. I generally caution my clients to not get into a new relationship during retrograde because all retrogrades are about self-reflection and growth.  So wait until the 19th to decide if you really want to move forward with old flame from the past!

This month we are seeing a lot of activity in the Sun sign of Capricorn.  Capricorn is the quintessential Father of the Zodiac, and Cancer is the Mother.  Interestingly this month's full moon is in Cancer. Capricorn is the worker, the taskmaster, Father Time, the teacher of great life lessons, grounded and stable to counter balance the maternal mood swings of nurturing and emotional Cancer.

Jan 2nd New Moon Supermoon - Capricorn (Release bad habits, poor work ethics, issues with men, your father, and clearing any negative beliefs around Our Heavenly Father)

Jan 14th Mercury goes Retrograde. (Here is an old, but detailed Blog regarding Mercury Retrograde)

Jan 17th Full Moon - Cancer (See Full moon info at the bottom of the blog)

Jan 19th Sun moves out of Capricorn and into Aquarius (the day upon which the switch happens varies from year to year)

Jan 24th Mars enters Capricorn - the personal meaning varies depending on your personal astrology chart, Mars is about forward movement, taking action, passion, and war, Mars in Capricorn is about moving forward wisely, take your time, moving to quickly can result in difficult lessons, slow and steady wins the race right now.

Jan 25th Mercury enters Capricorn - Mercury is retrograde and has moved into Capricorn.  Big life lessons can occur at this time, as Capricorn is the teacher and doles out karma for those that are unruly. Read the Mercury Report and apply it most specifically to reflecting on karmic lessons, karmic relationships, and looking at communication and contracts at work, your work history, work ethic, successes and failures in your career, to make adjustments for the better to move forward when Mercury goes direct.

Jan 29th Venus Retrograde ends as Venus goes Direct - Ready set, Romance! With Venus going direct, you may begin to feel more romantic and attractive as we head into February! 

Feb 1st New Moon  in Aquarius - Friendships, being unique and unconventional - This is also the Chinese New Year and begins the Year of the Tiger.  If you do not know your Chinese astrology, I highly recommend learning about it.  I have found it to be so wonderfully accurate.  

This Month's Magic Lesson: The misconceptions of the Moon phases: There is a common misconception among spiritual practitioners that are not well-versed in magical practice and history, and that is what type of spell work or ritual to perform at differing phases of the moon.  So let's get a few things straight for the most effective intention rituals, prayers, and magic.  

1. The term "New Moon" in magic workings is NOT when there is no visible moon.  It is actually the phase of the moon right after there is no visible moon.  When we first see the moon "waxing" (growing from a sliver of a crescent to a full moon). That visible sliver is actually the "New Moon". The New Moon is the perfect time for intentions and spells around new beginnings, starting new projects or business ventures, new relationships or creative endeavors, etc.  

2. The Dark Moon or Void is when no moon is visible in the sky, right before the sliver crescent of the New Moon.  Often people mistakenly refer to the Dark Moon as the New Moon but there is a huge difference in energy.  During the sometimes 1 to 3 nights that the sky is void of a moon, the Dark Moon phase, this is traditionally considered the time of rest and reflection.  Many do not do any spell or ritual work during a Dark Moon.  It is a good time to ask for guidance from beyond the veil and for visions and insights during your reflection meditations.  Others believe that the Void or Dark Moon operates like a black hole or cosmic vacuum making it the best time to conduct releasing rituals.  Sending up into the Void, things like habits that do not serve or toxic relationships or negative situations can be very effective during this time. 

3. Waxing Moon- When the moon is growing from crescent to full moon, it is Waxing.  During the waxing moon, the two weeks that the moon grows from a thin crescent to being Full, is good for spells or intention work focussed on creating more. Such as, more money, love, friendships, improved health, better job, and requesting your heart's desires. Conducting such prayer or ritual over the course of several days as the moon 'grows' is a very common practice and can be most effective.

4. Full Moon - when the moon is full it is shining 100% of its power down onto the Earth.  The full moon greatly effects everything on this planet from the tides of the ocean to animal mating cycles to human mood swings.  We are truly affected in so many ways by the cycles of the moon.  Harnessing this power for the greater good is a blessing.  The Full Moon is a wonderful time to set powerful intentions for world peace, for manifesting your heart's desire, for harnessing the power for protection, clarity, love, and abundance. 

5. The Waning Moon - When the moon begins to shrink in size after the full moon back down to the nothingness of the Dark Moon, this is a very good time to do releasing rituals and spells. This might include the elimination of obstacles or challenges, banishing ailments or negative energies, releasing bad habits, letting go of any negativity in your life.

GROUP PAST LIFE REGRESSIONS!

 

Greetings Sweet Souls! I wanted to share with you an amazing experience with three friends who wanted a Past Life Regression Party! I had a group of three lovely ladies request to book a group Past Life Regression Session with me and WOW! Honestly, because of Covid, it's been quite a while since I have had the opportunity to work in a group setting like this, but since they were all friends and chose to book together, there was a really powerful group energy that contributed to them each having VERY PROFOUND EXPERIENCES! It really brought me to tears! Now, first of all, with my group Past Life Sessions that I offer, this is often used by friends or social groups that are already associated so their is a common energetic connection. When I do a Past Life Regression Workshop, it is more for people coming to the workshop to find out what past life regression is about but are sitting among strangers. This has been not practical in the past few years, which is why it has been a while since I have had an opportunity to run a group Past Life Session at all. Without divulging personal information about these ladies, Spirit is nudging me to share what is possible in a group Past Life Session. During the course of the scheduled time, I create sacred space with higher intention, energetic practice, and crystal gridding of the room. We dive into 3 to 4 different past life experiences depending on how much time each journey into the Time/Space takes. Each person has their own individual journey, and I intuitively guide with prompts and suggestions based on what direction Spirit offers me. These ladies had the following experiences: One encountered her dear, deceased Grandmother on the steps of her Akashic Record Temple. Another had a very vivid journey to ancient Rome. One got to experience the cosmic blessing of the Life Between Lives, floating in the Cosmos as only a soul with no human form and received messages from spirit in that sacred space. Another experience one had was encountering her Uncle that she never got to meet because he passed as a young boy, her mother's brother. She got to interact with him as a young boy in the form of a Cherub with a loving exchange and beautiful insightful guidance. In another journey, one of the ladies was reunited with her deceased birth mom, her father, and the step mom that helped raise her after her mother passed away. There was much healing for her to see her birth mom and step mom holding hands in heaven and shining their love collectively into her. Each had 4 experiences for a total of 12 insightful, heart-warming and teary-eyed experiences! These are just a few of those experiences that they had! Welcome to the Monthly Meditation Newsletter!  My name is Ariana Zariah, Certified Energy Facilitator and Spiritual Advisor.  This is intended to be a year long journey with 12 very different meditation practices.  Meditation is often misidentified as sitting quietly in one place and trying to keep the mind empty and the thoughts at bay.  There is so much more to meditation than this one style of meditation, and that is why I have developed this monthly newsletter to help people find a meditation practice that works best for them, and to have a variety of meditation styles for those that enjoy Change and Choices!

The first Monday of each month, I will launch a new video meditation practice.  I encourage you to work as much as you can with this meditation for the whole month.  You may even enjoy journalling about your experiences, your frustrations, and your breakthroughs!  Meditation is a 'practice', it is not a 'perfection'.  Each time you try a meditation, you will have a totally different experience.  Some days it will be easier, some days it will be harder, some days your great grandmother may speak to you from beyond the veil.  Be in allowance of the challenging days and keep going.  It will be worth it in the end!

2022 Numerology Forecast!

It is that time of year again!  Each year I offer my insights into the coming year based on Numerology both for the Universal energies as well as how to calculate your Personal Year number and what it means for you in the coming year.  Please feel free to forward this email to friends and family that may find it valuable! 2022 has great power in its numbers.  The triple 2s hold a special meaning, aligning energies in a positive and exciting way.  Many of you have likely noticed seeing 222, 333, 444, etc as you become more aligned in your personal awakening journey.  222 is an angel number, reminding us all that our connection to our Angels is constant.  It is a call to pay attention to the signs, symbols, and whispers from Spirit.  Because 2 is about partnerships, cooperation, and alliances, the triple 2 or Trinity of 2s, calls for us to be mindful of our relationships, with ourselves, with our fellows, and with Spirit (in form of Angels, guides, Ancestors, and of course God as you define God.  Our (Spirit Helpers) Angels, Ancestors, guides, etc are always with us. When we see 222, our angels are reassuring us that we are on the right path, even if it is a struggle right now. They are showing us that they are there with us every step of the way. We are never alone. The zero "0" in the midst of the triple 2s of 2022 is a God number.  It represents the Infinite, God, the Universe.  It is about amplification, power, and the unlimited possibilities of the Universe.  So from this perspective, the coming year may have more trials and tribulations that we have seen in the past two years, but God is in the mix of it all!  We have many Universal Spirit Helpers, reminding us that they are always with us, no matter how hard or insane the world becomes.  No matter which side of the fence you are with our current global events, it is important to remember friends that NOTHING happens in this Universe with Our Creator.  All 'bad; things that occur, ultimately have a higher purpose for lessons, growth, and a deepening understanding and connection to Source.  This is a year to really focus on connecting to your Ancestors, Spirit Guides, Angels, etc.  We will be talking more about how connect and communicate through various meditations in my Monthly Meditation newsletter and creating an Ancestor alter and ceremonies to honor our Ancestors and Spirit Helpers in the Monthly Moon Magic newsletter.  (links below to sign up for these)

Universal Year of 6 ( 2+0+2+2 = 6 )

The Year of 6 is what I refer to as The Level-Up Year.  Again, this is an energy of creating more sacredness in your life experience through creating a sacred area in your home, attending to your relationships with more sacred reverence, connecting with those in your Soul Family, finding your soul's divine purpose, and deepening your connection to Our Creator, your Ancestors, Angels and Guides.  This is the year that various aspects of life "level up" or elevate to be more Divine or sacred.  Life will naturally align more with a higher purpose in a Universal Year of 6.  Therefore, the Universal Year of 6 vibrates for  these things to happen Universally.  What does that mean?  In 2022, we should see or sense a greater Spirit, a higher frequency coming in to help shift and reconstruct what has been in the midst of collapsing since the world was knocked on its feet in early 2020.  We should begin to see, as the year progresses, a shift into a more divine alignment.  We may actually have unexpected visitors and alliances show up in this year on a global scale.  By that, I suggest that ET contact would not surprise me this year.  Please prepare yourself for anything and KNOW that it is all for the highest good, no matter what the news tries to tell you.  The year of 6 also calls for being of service to family.  We may need to prepare for being of service to our brothers and sisters, less fortunate than us in more oppressive countries.  Through this service, whether to blood family, our community or to our global family at large, our efforts to be of service will be rewarded.  You may see this 6 energy affecting you in a personal way, although your Personal Year number will have a greater influence. (I explain how to calculate your Personal Year number and what it means for you below.)

CALCULATE YOUR PERSONAL YEAR: Calculating your Personal Year is easy!  Take your Birth Month, plus your day of birth and add them down to one digit.  Ex. December 29 (1+2+2+9 = 14; then 1+4 = 5) 

Take your month and day Number and add it to the Universal Year.  

2022 = 2+0+2+2=6 The Universal Year is 6.  In the example above take the 5 + 6 = 11 (1+1=2)

So the person in the example is in the Personal Year of 2.

Personal Year 1

A New Beginning In Your Life

The 1 Year is the beginning of a new nine year cycle for you. Last year was a 9, where you shed many things, people and experiences that would not serve you going forward.  Congrats! You made it through and the reward is the promise of being on an exciting new adventure, with life taking on new challenges that pave the way for the next cycle of nine years in your life. This is a time to clarify your goals and it is a time to act on them. Hard work may be necessary to get a new venture moving. Your endurance, energy and manifesting skills will be up during this year, perhaps higher than it has been for some time, as you have some special needs for this extra energy. If you are unable or unwilling to make changes  necessary now, your destiny may be delayed until the next cycle begins in nine years. Because of this, you feel like an adventure, a major change in your life, something new. New goals should be clearly set and worked toward, as this is really a new beginning of a nine year cycle and it is best not to dwell on the past at this time. This is a great time; use it to its full advantage. Receiving Coaching through this year is extremely powerful to utilize the energies of this year of forging a new life to its fullest advantage.

Personal Year 2

Cooperation and Collaboration

This is a number 2 personal year. While last year was a year that focussed on the Self and Personal Power, the Personal Year of 2 is a time to shift gears and collaborate, forge important partnerships and relationships, and become willing to co-pilot instead of running the whole show.  This is not a time to force the issue and try to move forward.  Aggressiveness will cause problems now.  A personal year 2 is a time for cooperation and building relationships that will benefit you in the future; a year for accumulating and collecting. You may give time and effort to further another's work. This is a time to improve your abilities to work with others in a productive way. In romantic relationships, there can be very deep emotional connections with a person of the opposite sex.  Love connections are common in the 2 year that can lead to deep intimacy and marriage.  If married or in a committed relationship, there is apt to be a deepening of feelings in the relationship during a 2 year.  However, if the relationship has run its course, the 2 year is the year it is likely to end in a parting of ways. Keep calm, cool, and pleasant. You may experience a degree of nervous tension during this period; the two year brings a tendency to emotional extremes including depression. If relationships are sensitive or important to you this year, additional guidance and coaching could be of great value to you.

Personal Year 3

Social expansion, creative successes, childlike wonderment

You are in a Double Whammy of 3's this Year!  How exciting for you! If you are going into a 3 personal year. This is a social, creative, happy year. It generally tends to exude bright and cheerful vibrations reminiscent of a playful child. A 3 personal year is a good time to expand personal creative talents, particularly those related to the arts and verbal skills.  This is a year when you will want to check up on old friends and broaden your social circle to include some new ones. Romance and love affairs may bloom, but beware that often in this year, these are more "summer love" in energy than serious long term loves. You are inclined to live life to its fullest now, even if you have to pay the consequences later on. You are likely to be more sociable and the bridle of responsibility will seem to be loosened a bit. You are inclined to scatter your energies and undertake too many things at the same time. You can safely take some time off to enjoy yourself, but resist the temptation to completely give in to having a good time; keep your goals in mind. Children do not do responsibility and seriousness well.  Take some time to keep your wits about you among the fun and camaraderie, and make sure your business is being attended to, otherwise it may be a disastrous year on the business scene. Beware of having a frivolous attitude, making rash decisions and dreaming up impractical schemes. This is not likely to be a very good year for your finances, and it is fortunate that the next year is designed to compensate these effects.  This is will be a fun year for you, but if you think you might get too far off track with your business during the fun, you may consider some coaching and guidance to keep your train on the track while you're living it up in the party car. 

Personal Year 4

Hard work, Home, building foundations, steady progress

If you are in a Personal Year of 4, the frivolity of your Number 3 year last year should be truly forgotten, as the party comes to an end and we view with foggy, sober eyes, the mess that our party guests left behind.  This is a year of hard work and effort. In year 1 we defined our goals, in year 2 we formed partnerships, in year 3 we began to create and had some fun, and now in year 4 we are ready to build the foundation of our new venture.  This is a year of sleeves rolled up, digging in and putting in the work.  In many ways, however, it is a frustrating year, when considerable effort fails to produce dramatic results. One step forward and two back may seem to be the case most of the time. This is an organizational period and you must look at your current and past performance in a very hard light. It is a time to get organized and bring yourself down to earth. Responsibilities will increase, magnifying the effort and hard work needed to maintain a reasonable level of existence. Health and diet should be carefully scrutinized this year, as physical resistance is low and you may become more susceptible to ailments. Focussing on organizing of home, keeping a peaceful home, will also be important to contribute to the hard work necessary this year. A tidying up of affairs in all areas is now in order, as you must make ready for a very hectic year ahead. If you find this year to be too much work, or are still too scattered from the energies of last year's partying, great focus and direction can be gained from outside coaching and guidance to keep you on task and cheer you on to your Personal Year of 5 next year.

Personal Year 5

Transformation, Chaos, Travel, Expanding Connections

This is a number 5 year, a year of major change in your life. Horizons are expanded and growth is less impeded. You are likely to make a number of new friends this year as social activities and networking events are expanding again. This is a year that has brought/will bring excitement and adventure and a good deal more freedom than you have experienced in recent years. This is a time for feeling loose and free; for moving away from old routines in a constructive way. Travel, particularly overseas, or interactions with international persons through business or internet is likely this year. If you became bogged down during this past year, now is the time to seek out new directions. The problem with a personal year 5 is the tendency to scatter energies in all directions. The number 5 can attract drama and chaos, so be aware.  Set strong boundaries.  Be the Oak Tree in the tornado.  Stand your ground, observe the chaos with compassion, but do not get sucked into the storm.  The positive side of the chaos and drama that often arises in the 5 year, is that it often creates great transformation and enlightenment.  Beware of excessive use of alcohol and volatile relationships in the 5 year.  Your ability to do detail work is limited in a 5 year and it may make you feel very confined. This is a year to be more focussed on the big picture and on a broader scale.  You can get to the details later! In all, this a free-wheeling year that is liable to bring major changes to your life; your career, your family situation, your residence. Like the 3 year, the 5 year is fun and full of merry making.  However, the 3 year has a childlike innocence to its frivolities and the 5 year can be more reckless, like a teenager.  You could greatly benefit from having outside help through guidance coaching to keep your inner teen from crashing the company car or making impulsive choices that create major setbacks to the life you have been building.  Romance in a 5 year: This is a bit of new information: I have seen a pattern in my clients and have never seen any other numerologist mention this.  Be very careful of trying to get serious romantically in a 5 year!!!  Romance in a 5 year, can be very karmic.  I have had a few clients that met their significant other in a 5 year and then divorced in the next 5 year cycle 9 years later.  These marriages were very challenging, heart wrenching and in some cases abusive.  Karmic relationships force transformation, so it makes sense to have karmic relationships show up in this way in a 5 year.  The problem with karmic relationships is that there is this amazing, dynamic attraction like you've known each other since the beginning of time, but ultimately it is a challenging, sometimes abusive experience.  This is someone you have had other past lives with, so it really feels like a soul mate. But it is rarely, rarely a 'for the rest of your life' love partner.

Personal Year 6

Level Up, Divine and Sacred, Being of Service to Family

If you are going in to a Personal Year of 6, you have some interesting energies on the horizon. This year tends to bring on increasing responsibilities and a deepening concern for family, loved ones, and close friends. It may be a year when you are called on to make some adjustments in your life, or sacrifices for those in your family or close circle of friends. Don't be surprised if you move-in with a sick family member to care for them or if a family member just had a baby and you are asked to move in to help out.  You may even feel prompted to have a family member move in with you to help them.  This is not really a year for major accomplishments, but rather a time to handle those adjustments to your plans that may be necessary or required, and for finishing projects started earlier. Endeavors will seem to be moving so very slowly throughout this year. This is a year to meet persons from your Soul Group will appear for your benefit this year, whether romantic or to enhance your business or be your best friend. Your emotional interchange with those who are close to you should be at its very best during this particular year. The important thing is to be willing to accept a slower pace and be sure to enjoy the peace and harmony that this year will bring. The Personal Year of 6 can be a time of slow and frustrating, unexpected responsibility lacking in forward movement.  It could be beneficial to gain encouragement and insights from a coaching or guidance session.

Personal Year 7

Existentialist, Spiritual Seeking, Inner Work, Quietude

The Personal Year of 7 is a very introspective year of pause and reflection. This year should provide you with some time for gaining some understanding of yourself and deepening your connection to Spirit, how you define "God", and even learning to hear that soft whisper of your Higher Self and Spirit Guides. Whether you are an extreme extrovert or not, you are apt to spend a good bit of time in quietude and contemplation. It will be good for you to spend time alone or in quiet activities, as free from outside responsibilities as possible. You should try to get away from business pressures. This is a good year to reflect on the past and plan for the future. This will not tend to be a year of action, but rather a year of waiting and development. The most "profitable" activities this year are reading, studying and writing, for your ability to think clearly, analyze, and integrate your thoughts is peaked now. Your capacity for research and understanding is at its very best. Whether your studies and contemplation are focussed on how to take your business to the next level, or seeking answers to man's highest spiritual questions, you will benefit greatly from allowing yourself time away from a lot of socializing and networking. It would not be unusual for you to take on an appearance of coolness and detachment during a 7 year. Certainly, it is best for you to focus your attention on your talents and your skills in an effort to use the time you have now to refine them. Perhaps you can find the time to gain more education, or simply spend free time in journalling, reflection and meditation. This is a time to focus on Spirituality and Spiritual workings.  If you have interest in deepening your connection with Spirit Guides and the Spirit World, you will gain much assistance from Coaching or Guidance Sessions.

Personal Year 8

Lessons with Money, CEO, build a nest egg

The Personal Year of 8 is focussed on Money, Wealth, and Material Advancement.  This does not mean that these things will come to you magically however, be aware that the possibility of material success is in the air this year and its up to you to make the best of these times.  This is a power year, a period when you can make important strides in your life with proper attention to stewarding your money and making sound choices. Coming after a very slow and introspective period (the personal year 7), you may start feeling some stirrings of ambitions and set into motion the ideas and knowledge gained in your period of introspection last year. This is a year of big decisions and the possibility of major achievements. Activity is your keynote now, and you will find yourself very much involved and occupied. Opportunities for advancement and recognition for past and current work is likely to come about during this year. You have things going for you so long as you take advantage and act. It is easy for you to branch out and expand in a businesslike manner. If you are at all inclined, this is the time to exude self-confidence and authority, because others will tend to be receptive to your leadership and control. Your power and status potential is at a peak of the nine years personal epicycle that concludes at the end of the next year.  Caution in how frivolous you are with your money at this time.  Stewardship and sensibility are paramount.  To take full advantage of the power of this time, you may seek guidance and counseling.

Personal Year 9

Closing the chapter, Completing cycles, Letting go, Be of service in a global way

Congratulations! You are in the closing year of another 9 year cycle!  This is not typically an easy year for people because the main energy of the Year of 9 is about letting go of all of the people, places and things that will not serve you in your next 9 year cycle starting next year with your 1 year.  Those people and things that you do not let go of on your own, often the Universe takes away in some manner.  Trust the process of the 9 year.  It can be very challenging and uncomfortable but it is all in Divine alignment for your highest and best good. This 9 Year of completions, ending, and reflections is a time when you are encouraged to take inventory of the past 8 years. It is advisable to make a point to complete any and all projects that were started in previous years.  Tie all of the loose ends and clear your plate to bring in new and improved next year! You are likely to scrutinize old values, ideals, and the ideas that you thought were important and consider that which has been working and who or what might no longer serve your Highest Good. This is a time of Humanitarianism.  Where in your Personal Year of 6, there was an energy of Being of Service to Family, the 9 year has an element of being of service on a broader scale, to the greater community or to the world.  You may become more involved with others and giving may become more important that merely looking out for yourself. You may gain personal benefit from volunteer work this year.  You may also become aware of a lure to commune with nature, as escapist desires become much stronger than in the past. A lot of things that you have been working for should come to completion during this year, and you will tend to clear the deck for the beginning of a new nine year cycle.  This is a wonderful year to gain guidance and counseling on how to clear out all of the old energies from the last 8 years and how best to prepare yourself for a clean slate for next year's New Beginnings Personal Year of 1.

FINDING A SPIRITUAL GURU

I recently encountered a very new Intuitive just awakening into her many untapped gifts.  She reminded me of how I started my journey; confused, needing direction, and eagerly seeking answers.  Along my journey, I sought out answers from others who seemed to be further on their way than me. Surely, if they say they are psychic or say they talk to their guides, or channel higher beings, that MUST BE TRUE... Right?  Who would lie about such things? If they offer their message with certainty and confidence, they must know what they are talking about! Right? Not always.

What I was told by my first mentor was not the answer I wanted at the time. But she was speaking HIGHEST TRUTH  to me. She said, "Ariana, My answer to your question is MY answer. Your answers are within. Only YOU truly know the answers for you." This is why I urge you to call on your own inner knowing and obey your body's sensitivity. If you get an icky feeling, walk away from that person no matter how nice they seem on the surface. There are many people who will take your money and offer you all kinds of "messages from Spirit". Be careful.

There is a woman who (without my request) channelled Ascended Masters and gave me a message from Spirit. While it was a lovely message, it was unwarranted and unsolicited. I asked my Higher Self "What is her intention?" She was trying to impress me, solicit her services, feed her ego.  There was an impurity about her need to convey this message. We are here to walk in our own truths.  It is pure and simple.

The processes of spiritual growth and enlightenment can take years or even lifetimes. Trying to fast track our journey by paying someone to give us the answers is not the way to self-actualization.  Of course,  some reach the mountain’s summit faster than others. But as a whole, it is a process that includes much dedication and time.  In my own Spiritual counseling practice, I am very careful to offer answers with defined certainty, but rather offer suggestions or open ended perspectives with room for the student / client to formulate their own opinion or challenge my perception.  My greatest delight is when the student becomes the teacher! But the question is, do you have a teacher that is open-minded enough to be the student? That is not always easy to find. 

There are several ways in which you can spot a false guru, spiritual teacher, or other peddler of faux spirituality. In this day and age where there are thousands of so-called gurus and Spiritual Counselors.  We have to be careful who we choose to listen to. If, in our haste to find a Spiritual mentor, we make the mistake of following someone who is ego-centered in their true intentions, then we will lose time, money, and create a spiritual foundation of false concepts.

It is my hope that this article can help others discern between the genuine teacher that wishes nothing more than to help others become self-realized and experience spiritual bliss, and those who proclaim they will do these things for you but in reality are just interested in your bank account. Be mindful of who you decide to listen to, and you will be thankful you spent some time to discern between those who are looking out for others and those who are looking out for themselves.

I highly recommend a movie on exactly this topic.  It is called Kumare.  The lead character creates a documentary out of a personification of a Guru, Kumare, and takes you through the journey of amassing followers.  He actually offers them amazing guidance, but in the end he reveals himself as an imposter conducting a social experiment.  The response to his group of avid followers is fascinating.
